NSP: National Solidarity PartyThe Defence Minister Ng Eng Heng replied in Parliament on the 9th of May 2022 when queried on should women be enlisted in National Service. The National Service is sacred and one of the building foundations of Singapore. The National Solidarity Party is more concerned with how the government is ensuring our New Citizens fulfil their obligations to serve National Service when they become eligible to serve. Singapore is a very attractive country for many foreigners looking to migrate and become new citizens. At the same time, they must be accountable to their responsibilities to their new home country as citizens. According to Ng Eng Hen's reply in 2018, an average of 350 people default on their NS requirements each year. How many are new citizens? And what has the government done to ensure our new citizens fulfil their obligations while enjoying the benefits their new home country have given to them?13th May 2022

NSP: National Solidarity Party8th May 2022 Mother's Day visit to Kampung Admiralty! Wishing 'Happy Mother's Day!' to mothers in our Sembawang GRC today! Mothers' love cannot be quantified and measured. For working mothers, it is even more challenging for them to balance all the different demands made on them. NSP has great respect to all our mothers and deeply appreciate all the sacrifices they have endured for their children and family. We should always be reminded that women hold up half the sky.8th May 2022
NSP: National Solidarity PartyMothers are the most amazing people on Earth. They often prioritise their children and families above anything else. Today is the day to celebrate motherhood as well as maternal bonds. Let us reaffirm and value their dedication and sacrifices for their loved ones not just today but EVERYDAY too! NSP wishes all mothers a very Happy Mother's Day!8th May 2022

People's Power Party - PPPnoneOur Joint Statement with Reform Party and Red Dot United. 6 May 2022 Mr K Shanmugam Law Minister Ministry of Law Dear Mr Shanmugam, ARE LAWYERS IN SINGAPORE AFRAID TO REPRESENT PRISONERS IN IMPORTANT LEGAL MATTERS BECAUSE OF FEAR OF THE GOVERNMENT? We the undersigned refer to articles on the case of an inmate, Datchinamurthy a/l Kataiah (Datchinamurthy), who was granted stay of execution by the Court on 28 April because of a civil case he has (with others) against the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC). On 28 April 2022, Datchinamurthy represented himself to successfully appeal for a stay of execution. One article by a lawyer practicing in Singapore said: “no lawyer in Singapore would act for Datchinamurthy, in spite of the intuitive wrongness of what the State was trying to do. Suffice to say, people either did not care, and those who cared were too scared to act, because of recent cases in which personal cost orders and disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the lawyers who acted in similar stay applications.” Another news report by a renowned international news outlet said that Datchinamurthy had to represent himself without any lawyers assisting him because “no lawyer wanted to take the case, fearing reprisals from the government.” We are concerned by such serious allegations that lawyers in Singapore might be afraid to represent prisoners in such important legal matters because of the fear of reprisals by the State. Under the Singapore Constitution, everyone is entitled legal counsel and representation. Article 9(1) of our Constitution states that “[n]o person shall be deprived of his life or personal liberty save in accordance with law”, while Article 9(3), provides that “Where a person is arrested, he… shall be allowed to consult and be defended by a legal practitioner of his choice.” The right to counsel is a key constituent of the right to a fair trial and goes to the heart of the rule of law, upon which the economic prosperity and national development of Singapore are anchored on. In the spirit of this governing philosophy, we ask the Government to clarify: Do lawyers in Singapore operate under a climate of fear of State reprisals for taking on certain types of cases or defendants? If not, what measures are there to explicitly prevent the assumption of such potential reprisals forming among lawyers? Do criminal court procedure rules such as the Criminal Procedure Rules 2018 place too onerous a requirement on lawyers practising in Singapore to represent certain cases? Do the criminal court procedure rules adhere to Principle 18 of the United Nations' Basic Principles on the Role of the Lawyer, which prescribes that lawyers shall not be identified with their clients or their clients' causes as a result of discharging their functions? We believe that it is the duty of the government of the day to actively quell myths just as robustly as it defends harm to its reputation, and must be seen to set the record straight even - and perhaps especially - when such urban legends create conveniently favourable outcomes. Yours Sincerely, Mr Goh Meng Seng Secretary-General, People’s Power Party for People’s Power Party Mr Kenneth Jeyaretnam Secretary-General, Reform Party for Reform Party Mr Ravi Philemon Secretary-General, Red Dot United for Red Dot United7th May 2022
You quote news reports and send Shanmugam a press statement to ask him this for what? All you need to do is to ask the lawyers in the opposition camp whether they feel fear when representing a client. Charles Yeo (ex-RP Chairman in KJ's party) is one. He once called a civil servant a "pathetic coward and collaborator with an authoritarian regime". Unlikely he would be scared to represent anyone. Let's also not forget Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss, who ran for several elections and is now closely associated with the Workers' Party. She tried to represent Kho Jabing in 2016 but got reprimanded by the AGC for abusing the court process. She would definitely be a go-to person for the issue you raised. Lim Tean (PVP Sec Gen) too. But more likely with his own legal woes, he'll be looking to pay his bills first. Did you three consult the above lawyers, one of whom is KJ's ex-chairman in the RP, about this issue? If yes, why didn't you include their clearly relevant opinions? If not, why not?8th May 2022

For this May, here are the questions posed by NCMP Leong Mun Wai 梁文辉 surrounding the impact of reopening the economy, employment passes and statistics of Singapore firms with foreign PMETs. These questions were answered in the May Parliament session, whereas other questions including those by NCMP Hazel Poa Koon Koon 潘群勤 were pushed to the July sitting. If I'm not wrong, there was a news report saying the "senior roles" was defined based on number of years in the finance sector? If it's only based on years and not actual seniority of position, then it doesn't seem the figure is accurate for "senior roles"? Is PSP aware of this?13th May 2022

Progress Singapore PartyPSP advocates for a strong Singaporean core that will be able to consistently contribute to the growth of our country. Part of this lies in our defence line, which is also made of working-class citizens. In Parliament this May, NCMP Leong Mun Wai 梁文辉 highlighted that there are fewer male citizens entering NS, while our population has been growing due to new citizens and PRs who are not called up for NS. Here is the exchange by NCMP Leong and response to his question in Parliament by the Defence Minister. The issue can compromise our national defence and does not represent a fair and equitable way of sharing our defence burden. Defence remains an important aspect of keeping our nation safe and sovereign. Support progress. Support PSP. #PSPSG #ProgressSingaporeParty #PSPinParliament10th May 2022

PM Lee being the world highest paid politician has nothing better to say than to inform Singaporeans we are heading towards a recession in next 2 years. We would expect him and his team to tell Singaporeans not just to forecast doom but also tell us how he and his team being paid astronomically have strategies to mitigate recession. Does it mean we are paying top dollar for mediocre leadership? Every year, everything goes up, we are always given reasons or excuses for them. This year, prices already adjusted before the Ukraine war and then the war came and prices went further. They conveniently pushed the blame to war. A lot of sheep keep repeating the SOP answer, especially die hards or people with low IQ. Let us look at some of the direct or indirect cost components:- 1. Rental – This goes up every year, even during the pandemic, the govt wasn’t reducing it to help businesses. In the end, many small medium enterprises chose to exit. 2. Petrol – Our price is highest in the world, higher than Europe, North America, Japan and our neighbours. 3. COE – Reaching almost $100,000. 4. ERP – Rates are re-climbing as usual. 5. Utility – Also we are amongst highest in the world for water, electricity and gas. For those sheep or dumb, your goods need to be transported by lorries, cars and vans, they don’t fly into the stall or warehouse. For all businesses, they need to pay rent and utility, these high costs add to the burden that they need to include into the cost of sales. Remember, the govt is the largest landlords in Singapore, from HDB to Reits. And other landlords learn their greed of play. Now in order to deter Singaporeans to go into Malaysian to buy cheap goods, they have further reduced the GST relief. I suggest they ban people from buying anything and force all Singaporeans to buy the overly expensive priced locally. So don’t be naive that cost of living is due to external factors, it is due to these components largely implemented by a very greedy govt. And all they will do is to issue some vouchers like panadol treatment to ease your pain for few days and you will be happy to accept further hikes. Malaysian eggs selling at $4 and the same eggs imported into Singapore, at one time almost close to $8, now near $7. You tell me, the extra $3 is due to war? So when Pinky said he is going to help with cost of living or inflation? Tell me, which of the 5 items that are directly under his team’s control he is going to help? You really so naive to think he is going to help??? Remember Pinky said you voted me because you support my policies. So if you have voted for him, you supported all these policies and higher and higher cost of living. Don’t complain and expect change, this is what you have voted for. Shirley Leung10th May 2022
The Solution is very SIMPLE. You want to be a Singapore Citizen, the Male children MUST SERVE NS. If they refuse, then just GET LOST FROM SINGAPORE. If this Current Govt, does not abide by this policy, then they should step aside and let the Opposition party take over. Why need to bend over backwards to please these Foreigners who wish to be Citizens but don't abide by our rules and policies? Isn't that GROSSLY UNFAIR TO THE BORN AND BRED TRUE BLUE SINGAPOREANS?10th May 2022
Ng Eng Heng was avoiding the questions. Why are the questions not germane? Is it because Ng says so? Are there new citizens who are exempted from serving NS? If so, why? The PAP Government should be transparent.10th May 2022
Liuliu Liew most probably he will “fix” it to make his prediction (2024) come through because in GE2025 he will then likely portray himself the hero and “unfix” his “fix”, I guess by using nation reserves AGAIN to “bribe” us in the form of vouchers….SAME OLD F*** TRICKS that fooled the 56.42%???10th May 2022

SDA News PageSDA Labour Day Message 2022 Dear Friends, Singapore's greatest resource is, and always will be, our people. Our nation was built on the hard work and sacrifice of all Common Singaporeans, from independence till the prosperous nation it is today. I was a 50s child, and I saw these developments take place before my eyes. Before all of today's shiny skyscrapers and sprawling gardens, I saw how my parents struggled to afford rice despite working from morning late into the night in construction and as hawkers. Yet, they did the best they could so that my siblings and I had enough to eat every day. Labour Day is the time we keep in mind the drive, industry and creativity of all Common Singaporean workers like them who defiantly stood tough against all hardships to build a better Singapore for us. It is also a time that we ask where we are headed on our next lap. Today, we are seeing an exodus of young Singaporeans turning to menial gig work to make ends meet, such as delivery riders and private-hire car drivers - respectable professions, though not sustainable for young Singaporeans in the long term. One rider I spoke to said it is "the best option he has" to earn enough to make ends meet at this time. He is a local polytechnic graduate. Today, we are seeing record-high levels of local PMETs being retrenched compared to 10 years ago. We also see how the number of foreign PMETs has surged in this same decade. Social mobility - Singaporeans' ability to move up the economic ladder - is now at its worst. How did things come to this? The government continues to build shiny, extravagant public buildings and make superfluous multi-million dollar political appointments using our tax monies. Yet, Common Singaporean workers like our technicians and taxi drivers have to tighten our belts while kopitiam food prices go up by some 30 percent. And we are told we need to pay more taxes. This is not right. To this, the SDA urges the government to curb the impending GST hike, improve the grooming of local talent who are not from the elite class, and implement tighter measures to ensure fair competition for Common Singaporeans in the job market. (1) "No" to a GST hike Singaporeans have pulled our country out of the Covid-19 pandemic, much as the government would like to claim much credit despite its convulated flip-flop measures. Yet, we now face the worst inflation situation in recent years, and the possibility of a global recession. This is not the time to raise GST. Already, many are feeling the pinch because their incomes cannot keep up with the prices of basic items. The government must not rub salt further into our wounds, especially when there are other measures it can take to raise public funds. (2) Better conditions for "non-elite" local talents to develop and prosper The Covd-19 pandemic exposed the deep inequality between the haves and have-nots when it comes to education. A bulk of children from working and middle class families struggled to learn-from-home because they did not have access to the necessary tech tools, or conducive home environments. Even as we leave behind the pandemic, we find the closure of more neighbourhood schools despite high class-size numbers. Yet elite schools get fancy new MRT stations and sheltered walkways while more resources are being funnelled into the Gifted Education Programme. This should not be the case. Less-privileged children must also be given the chance to learn in an enviroment where more attention can be paid to their needs, and in which they are equipped with the right tools to succeed. (3) A Minimum Qualifying Salary for foreign PMETS that ensures fair competition The government has increased the minimum qualifying salary for foreign PMETs, or E-Pass holders. Yet, this is a paltry increase - it still costs more to hire the equivalent of a Singaporean worker. If foreign PMETs are truly "talents" brought in to fill roles that cannot be performed by Singaporeans, as the government claims, shouldn't their wage floor be higher to match their level of "expertise"? Instead, as things stand, these foreign PMETs continue to pose direct competition to Singaporeans - with an unfair wage advantage. This must stop. To Conclude: The SDA has spoken about these issues in our manifesto. And we will continue to champion these issues, because these are key concerns of residents that we speak to on our walkabouts and house visits. To all Common Singaporean workers young, old, and very old, we wish you a Happy Labour Day. Just as our parents and grandparents have done before in the face of hardship, we too shall overcome. Singapore Democratic Party (SDP)none[SDP TO APPEAL LATEST HIGH COURT RULING ON POFMA] High Court Justice Woo Bih Li has dismissed the Singapore Democratic Party’s application to cancel the Government’s Correction Direction over the statement it made about the People’s Action Party (PAP) not having ruled out a population size of 10 million in Singapore. The matter initially arose from a comment put forth by Dr Chee Soon Juan, the party’s Secretary-General, in a televised debate during GE2020. He had said that the PAP was “toying with the idea” of having a population of 10 million. The word “toying” denotes the consideration of an idea, especially in a casual manner. This is far from an assertion that the government was “aiming”, “targeting” or “planning” for a population of 10 million. In his judgment, Justice Woo referenced the SDP’s argument which cited a statement made by Housing and Development Board (HDB) CEO Dr Cheong Koon Hean in a 2018 lecture entitled “Anticipating Our Urban Future – Trends, Threats and Transformation”. During that lecture, Dr Cheong had stated that “Building flexibility into our plans also requires us to develop plans which can accommodate a larger population. Dr Liu Thai Ker has advocated planning for a projected population of 10 million. His view has generated debate. No doubt, there will continue to be much discussion on what might be an appropriate population size for Singapore.” The judge also referred to the SDP's citation of former foreign minister George Yeo’s statement, “If you plan for more and we don’t reach that number, then Singapore will be very spacious.” Mr Yeo made these remarks during a discussion together with Dr Liu in January 2022. The corollary to Mr Yeo’s statement is as such - if we had planned for more [people] and attained that number, Singapore would have successfully anticipated a bigger population. Taken into context what Dr Cheong, and in particular, Dr Liu and Mr Yeo have additionally expressed publicly, the idea of a population size of 10 million – having been discussed among former and current senior government officials - cannot be dismissed out-of-hand. Hence, the phrase “the government was ‘toying with the idea’ of 10 million people”, is a reasonably-formed opinion, and is a statement that the Government has not issued a POFMA against. While we respect the decision of the Judge, it is our opinion that the statement made in our post on HDB CEO Dr Cheong Koon Hean’s lecture also should not be construed as a statement falsely and deliberately made without any basis. The SDP will seek leave to appeal Justice Woo’s ruling.13th May 2022

Singapore Justice Party - 新加坡正义党Attachment post(s): SDA Labour Day Message 2022 Dear Friends, Singapore's greatest resource is, and always will be, our people. Singapore United PartyVesak Day or Wesak day: It is a celebration of Buddha's birthday and, for some Buddhists, marks his enlightenment (when he discovered life's meaning). It is also a time to reflect on his teachings and what it means to be Buddhist. In Singapore, Vesak Day celebrations include monks chanting and acts of generosity which are observed by Buddhist organizations and temples. These include the freeing of caged birds and animals, visiting and giving alms to the poor and needy. Silent marches or meditations in the evening end the daylong celebration. Following the Second World war, there was a campaign in Singapore to make Vesak Day a national holiday. It was finally made a national holiday in 1955 and till these days it is celebrated by those who practice Buddhism as part of their life. Singapore United Party wishes all Buddhist a very Happy Vesak Day.14th May 2022

Translation Peace be upon you fellow Muslim and residents of Ang Mo Kio, Yio Chu Kang and Kebun Baru. We, Tyeisha, Noraini Bte Yunus and fellow members from the Singapore United Party, felt honored to meet you in this blessed and glorious month of Ramadan 2022. We had the opportunity to provision meals for iftar (breaking of fast for the day) to some of the residents. What's more, now the Covid19 ban has been lifted and the Dorscon Level has been downgraded back to yellow. But we are faced with soaring high consumer prices and an uncertain economy with an anticipation of recession Our work and daily lives are likely to be severely affected. We need to revisit our daily expenses during this challenging times and be prudent on how we spent. We from Singapore United Party take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2022M / 1443H.2nd May 2022

Singapore United PartyIt was raining this evening when we were preparing to pay a visit to Blk 647 Ang Mo Kio Ave 6 (Yio Chu Kang SMC) we got our food for distribution from two Stalls today, hoping to support more stalls in AMK GRC. A big Thank you to Ika Cafe and Uncle Penyet😊 for the packed food. The quantity may not be alot but what matters most are that the packed food are delivered to our Muslim friends in time for Iftar. This posting also sums up the closing of our Food Distribution Project for this Ramadan - We would like to thank all the Donors, Members and Volunteers for their time in helping out and all these wouldn't have happened without anyone of you. Just wanted to ask, will the SUP accept volunteers from other parts of SG? I live in the west, but I would like to volunteer with the SUP. How do I go about doing so? Can you please advise me on how to proceed? Thank you.28th Apr 2022
SUP seems to have focused even more on the Central parts indeed so I believe that NOT only they are focusing on AMK areas even the two adjacent SMCs BUT also VERY likely to expand over to BOTH Bishan and also Marymount areas too, given that PSP MIGHT also expressed deep interest in Bishan too soon...28th Apr 2022
Singapore United Party -> Stan Scott Gu Hi Stan, yes, your messages were well recieved. We welcome volunteers from any parts of Singapore and we are extending our outreach sessions to Ang Mo kio. You may reach out to us with your availability or stay tune to our upcoming schedules28th Apr 2022
Singapore United Party I want to volunteer to help fellow Singaporeans. .united Singaporeans29th Apr 2022
Singapore United Party: How do I reach out to you guys regarding my availability? Does the party have its own website?29th Apr 2022
Andy -> Stan Scott Gu Thank you very much, please enjoy the Holidays too29th Apr 2022
Andy: You are most welcome, Mr Andy. And I sincerely hope that you, and your family, will enjoy the long weekend too.29th Apr 2022
Amaki Kaoru: I also think the same way. The party's strategy seems to be concentrating on AMK, Kebun Baru and YCK for now. As for whether they will expand into Bishan and Marymount, it really depends on the party leadership's direction. We do not really know what the various Opposition parties are up to, strategically.29th Apr 2022
I guess PSP MIGHT be targetting the two areas thus leaving off the two Kebun Baru and YCK over to SUP then, leaving alone both Bishan and Marymount over to PSP then indeed too...29th Apr 2022

The Reform PartyAttachment post(s): This map is misleading as Singapore avoids killing journalists by the corrupt expedient of giving LHL the right to edit what they write and fire them if he doesn’t like it. All media is state media. This plays a major role in keeping him in power and ensuring no embarrassing questions are ever asked about the millions (possibly billions) he and his wife have paid themselves out of state coffers and the extent of his family’s assets (much of which is probably inherited). NeIther do Singaporeans get answers to the deadly serious questions of the size of what should be trillions of dollars in reserves and why they receive so little benefit from them. These questions can be buried when you own the press. Other leaders, like Netanyahu in Israel, have been prosecuted for doing deals with media owners for favourable coverage. Shouldn’t LHL be? #corruption #PressFreedom15th May 2022
